The BNLLEN has four major stakeholders, the newest of which is Parents.  The BNLLEN is committed to building the capacity of parents to successfully support their children in the various phases of transition from primary to secondary schooling, to further education, training and employment.

The BNLLEN is currently surveying a random selection of parents.  The information gathered will assist in developing a pilot between a local primary school and their feeder secondary school that supports continued and effective parent engagement through the transition phase from primary to secondary schooling.

The Government has acted on these recommendations by improving communication with families and service providers through the ‘My Neighbourhood’ function on the Raising Children Network web page (, which helps parents locate services, introducing regular service provider newsletters and using new technologies such as electronic tablets to assist families to undertake therapy, including those in rural and remote areas.
