Local Research and Data

The Data Exporter

The City of Banyule and Nillumbik Shire Community Profiles provides demographic analysis for the Cities and its suburbs based on results from the 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Censuses of Population and Housing.

In the DATA EXPORTER section of the community profile you can access individual data items from each table in the community profile for each year and each geographic area. This enables you to configure your own tables. For example, you may want to compare one data item from a table (such as 0-4 year olds from the age structure table) across many geographic areas. Or you may want to look at a certain topic across multiple years to see the long term trend.

Homelessness Amongst Affluence

In response to a growing number of services unable to find emergency accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness in Banyule and Nillumbik, the Banyule Nillumbik Youth Services Network launched an investigation. The objective of this research was to gain an understanding of the number of young people aged 12 – 24 years living in the City of Banyule and the Shire of Nillumbik who are at risk of homelessness and the issues they face.
This is the final Report “Wearing out Your Welcome” Homelessness Amongst Affluence and also the Executive Summary.
