The City of Banyule and Nillumbik Shire Community Profiles provides demographic analysis for the Cities and its suburbs based on results from the 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Censuses of Population and Housing.
In the DATA EXPORTER section of the community profile you can access individual data items from each table in the community profile for each year and each geographic area. This enables you to configure your own tables. For example, you may want to compare one data item from a table (such as 0-4 year olds from the age structure table) across many geographic areas. Or you may want to look at a certain topic across multiple years to see the long term trend.

In response to a growing number of services unable to find emergency accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness in Banyule and Nillumbik, the Banyule Nillumbik Youth Services Network launched an investigation. The objective of this research was to gain an understanding of the number of young people aged 12 – 24 years living in the City of Banyule and the Shire of Nillumbik who are at risk of homelessness and the issues they face.

In 2012 the Banyule and Nillumbik Youth Connection Consortia funded a research project to investigate the issue of disengagement from education of our secondary students aged under 16 years of age. The research looked at the reasons for absences, suspensions and expulsions and some of the responses to these issues. The report provided some recommendations.
The BNLLEN 2013 Environmental Scan is the main document utilised by the BNLLEN to guide the strategic directions of its work.
These profiles are intended to provide local level information on the health, wellbeing, learning, safety and developmental outcomes of Adolescent children.
