Help empower young people
Partner with Banyule Nillumbik LLEN in the delivery of practical, inspiring workplace learning opportunities to prepare young people in our region for the future world of work.
How BNLLEN can help
Your business can get involved by partnering in a practical project that enhances learning beyond the classroom.
Structured Workplace Learning is on the job training during which a student is expected to master a set of skills or competencies, related to a course accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). These include Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Schools programs, Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).
Quality workplace learning is structured, in that it has a clearly stated purpose and documented learning outcomes to enable students to gain the skills and understanding to demonstrate competence to industry standards of at least AQF Level 1.
Allow us to assist in your Structured Workplace Learning placement.
Structured Workplace Learning
Looking for employees of the future? Want to promote the employment potential in your industry to young people? Get involved with Structured Workplace Learning (SWL).
Becoming a host employer for SWL is a great opportunity for you to participate in the education, career development and training of young people in your community; talk to students about your industry, its career paths and future directions; promote the attitudes and skills you want in your workforce and identify young people with potential for your industry; strengthen your links with the community and raise your business profile; and increase the supervisory, training and mentoring skills of your staff.

School Based Apprenticeships
School based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBAT) are available to secondary school students over 15 years old who are enrolled in VCE or VCAL studies. A SBAT offers students the option of combining part-time employment, school and training. The program runs under a contract with an employer and has a training plan registered with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. The training must lead to a nationally recognised qualification.
