Nancye is Executive Officer of the Banyule Nillumbik Local Learning & Employment Network (BNLLEN).Prior to joining the BNLLEN, Nancye worked in several secondary schools in the North of Melbourne and at TAFE. During this time, she was involved the development and delivery of quality pathways programs in schools.

As an educator, Nancye formed a passion for improving engagement of at risk, disadvantaged cohorts particularly young people from CALD and indigenous backgrounds and those with disabilities.

With experience in Hospitality Management and Corporate Recruitment, Nancye understands both the employer and job seeker perspective.

Ross has been at the BNLLEN since 2005, prior to that was employed as a Physical Education, Information Technology and Mathematics teacher from 1984.

Having been very interested in supporting young people to move into a variety of career pathways, when VCAL was being introduced as an alternative to VCE, he was employed as a Regional Consultant to assist schools to implement VCAL. Over 3 years, the Northern Region went from 4 schools delivering VCAL to 65. Whilst working in the regional office a number of networks were created that supported students whilst they were at school, and highlighted the need to improve connectivity with post school options.

His transition to work in the LLEN for the past 11 years has allowed this passion to continue, and has contributed reliably in maintaining a great relationship with local schools, business and community groups.

Colleen joined the team in 2007 taking on the role of Working Community Coordinator.  Over the past 10 years she has brokered strong community partnerships that have provided excellent opportunities for VCAL students to be involved with some fantastic student led community projects.

With a background in the employment sector and successfully operating a small business Colleen brings a varied skill base and experience to the BNLLEN and as a result wears many different hats.

Currently she is working on the Youth Employment Taskforce, Nillumbik Youth Stakeholder group and has now stepped into the role of Manager of Strengthening Schools, Industry Engagement project whilst continuing as the Working Community Coordinator.

Katrina has two roles at the LLEN: Partnership Broker and Marketing, Communication and Events Officer. She came on board in 2009 and has been involved in a variety of roles and programs since.

Katrina has always had a deep interest in helping youth and the disadvantaged. Marry that up with her fascination with web design, marketing and social awareness and Katrina finds the LLEN to be the perfect place to make a positive impact on the local community.

Maridina joined the team in late 2013 and is the Banyule L2P Officer for the L2P Learner Driver Mentor program.

Maridina enjoys her role in the Banyule L2P program, as she, along with her team of amazing and dedicated volunteers, can help young disadvantaged learner drivers get their 120 hours of on-the-road driving experience required to get their P plates, ultimately helping them gain their independence, participate in further education, and increase their employability.

Monica is one of the Structured Workplace Learning team here at BNLLEN. She started when the project was in its initial “pilot” phase back in 2010, and is proud to have been part of the program’s development over the last 7 years.

She has a passion for developing quality relationships between local industry and education providers, to support young people of all abilities as they investigate their career options.

Prior to this role, Monica completed her Certificate III in Education (Special Needs), and worked as an Integration Aide, supporting both Primary and Secondary School students in the local area.

She’s also a bit of a nerd, enjoying Star Trek, movies, music, and crossword puzzles in her spare time. She has no pets at home, but her kids are really hassling her to get a dog.

Alison brings a diverse range of skills to the BNLLEN, having worked previously as a Teacher, a Musician and a Bank Manager. Since starting with the LLEN in 2016, Alison has found she enjoys working with the local schools and sourcing opportunities for student placements, with a focus in the field of Health.

Outside the office, Alison likes spending her downtime with a good book or movie, in particular from the genre of speculative fiction.
