Youth Employment Strategy
The Banyule Nillumbik Youth Employment Strategy is a local response to current and emerging issues on youth unemployment and underemployment across the region.
This work is supported by a regional partnership between community agencies, business, industry and council representatives, schools and education providers committed to improving youth employment and pathway opportunities for all young people living in the Banyule and Nillumbik region.
This year, BNLLEN will work on the re-establishment of the Youth Employment Strategy, including strengthening a governance structure to support the work of the local taskforce. This work will involve planning, consultation, implementation, and the development of a local action plan.
Aim and Purpose of the Taskforce
- To better understand how young people, engage with career related activities (in school and out of school) including but not limited to;
- Current complex issues of both local and state-wide youth unemployment and underemployment issues’ and
- Develop a coordinated Youth Employment Strategy to improve employment opportunities for young people across the region.
